While we're on the topic, another upside is the increasing utility of
Fedora Extras.  It contains 2200+ reviewed packages and has been growing
at a rate of a few dozen per week.  Its easier to use than previous
versions (setup by default on FC4 and later).  And its not too hard to
join in

and get some help packaging your favorite bits for inclusion.  We've
added some of the key (and somewhat esoteric) stuff that we wanted and
its has benefited our group.
