USB Disk Speed

I finally got around to trying it out, and, indeed, the Ubuntu live CD
knows how to talk to my USB hard disk at 27 MB/s.  It takes a long
time to boot, but the time it will save next I need a bootable CD to
slop a few gigabytes on or off my USB disk, it will be well worth it.
