They would jam a lot if you didn't "fluff" the paper before putting in the tray (ie hold the ream of paper like a book, then flip through all the pages with your thumb a couple times like you're doing one of those book-animation things, except you don't do just the corner of the paper, you try to get good separation for the whole sheet).
