Good question.  That's one that, as I said, a predecessor tried but failed to 
get answered by Red Hat and Dell (who pointed fingers at one another).

Well, it's a bit of a production but that may well be what I end up 
doing--upgrading a hundred servers with new NICs without disrupting the 24/7 
server farm.  Sound fun?  ;-)
