Thanks for reading this. I've got a very basic question about group permissoins. Here's the setup: Debian Etch Directory /public with permissions rwxrwxr x. Owner is "root", group is "users". User "bill" is a member of users, yet I can't write to the /public directory. Why? TIA. Bill -- E.
