FiOS, 1080i, and 1080p

That sounds spot on.  The Hanns-G monitor is going for low cost, so
they don't add the HDCP hand-shaking since the device is made to be a
computer monitor.  It looks like for about $300, I could solve the
problem with this device:

I might not do it though, since I may just bring the signal into my
box and let mythTV cut out the commercials first, then watch it from
there.  Now I know of another acronym to watch out for.
