Not if your distro's kernel people aren't extensively testing it and don't have the chops to fix issues themselves, it isn't. (Yes, that's a thinly veiled shot at Canonical... ;) I have multiple machines that have been running with ext4 filesystems for quite some time, very few problems to speak of.
