The Plantronics headset has the standard PC speaker/microphone plugs
which should allow this to work better than the USB headset/microphone I
had previously. I tested this on Ubuntu 10.10 to verify my settings, and
also verified that it was using the headset mic, not the built-in mic.
I'll test it this weekend at home on Fedora 13 with both the plugs as
well as with a USB adaptor.
