If you're looking for a hardware solution, you might ask at acard.com;
I've been considering their ARS-2000FU Bridge Smart product, which
is a bolt-on scsi controller for an ide hard drive. It may only work for
hard drives, but it wouldn't hurt to ask their tech support if it would
work for a tape drive.
