two questions



My Mediaone connection uses DHCP to assign IPs.  You're pretty limited 
unless you have some business grade service I don't know of.  If it is 
DHCP, your setup will work, but only as long as you don't reconnect to 
retrieve a random IP/host address.  And I wouldn't be surprised if 
Mediaone forces reconnections every 24 hours or so, just to prevent this 
type of usage.
