If you have one of the cards that shares memory with the system = then more system memory might help. Additionally, the higher the=20 resolution the more memory you need, same for the number of colors. If=20 you are going to buy a new system in the future, try looking at ways to=20 conserve system memory. Look at what you have running. For instance, if=20 you are not actively on Firefox, then switch to a lower graphical site.=20 News sites have a lot of dynamic content. While emacs take quite a bit=20 of memory most of it is passive. My older computer only had 3/4th of a=20 GB and never thrashed, and I used mostly email, firefox, and Xemacs, but = it also was able to do a decent job with VirtualBox. --=20 Jerry Feldman <gaf-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846
