Open Source Forum software (was PHPBB3)

After installing phpBB3 with MYSQL when I went to log in after the final
step, I got a blank page. Apparently this is a well documented problem
in phpBB3 and some of the other products that use it. So, rather than
spend Monday debugging it I was looking at a few other Open Source
products. I'm going to state that MYSQL is a requirement since the
mod-sqlite source package does not compile, and again it is a matter of
wasting my time although debugging is fun.

Basically what we want here is to set up an online forum inside the
company simply to provide a discussion forum for one of our new products
that we are supporting out of our office. I'm not too concerned about
security in that we are behind a few firewalls.
A couple of products I am looking at right now is bbPress (from
WordPress), bbScript, fluxBB, Vanilla Forums, and a few others. I was
looking at possibly using Drupal, but I think it is a bit overkill for
our needs.
