[Discuss] TrueCrypt EOL, what's next?

I have a new speculation:

They were told to remove the hidden volume capability.  They would rather commit suicide.  They were told not to go public with the coercion attempt as lavabit did.  So they posted ridiculous bullshit on their webpage, signed it to demonstrate it's legitimately them, and the public is left to speculate what happened.

If it were really a hoax, they would surely have straightened it out by now.
