Help w/SS5, OpenBSD, serial port console

Hello to all:

I have a SS5 at home running OBSD, with console off the serial port.
I want to reinstall the system due to problems, so I am trying to get to
the openprom. Problem is, I cannot get a login prompt to shutdown or
halt. What keystroke sequence at boot, and at what point at boot time,
can I use to get the OK prompt? I can see the error messages scroll up
the serial console window:

Feb 8 21:58:50 init: can't exec getty '/usr/libexec/getty' for port
/dev/console: Is a directory

Thanks.

Scott
